Important Notice About Your Account: System Conversion Effective July 13, 2026
On September 5, 2025, Kaw Valley State Bank legally merged with Farmers State Bank.
Since that time, your accounts have continued to operate as usual.
On July 13, 2026, we will complete the operational conversion of your accounts to Farmers State Bank’s systems and terms.
The below information explains what will change, what will stay the same, and what action, if any, you may need to take.
What This Means for You
Beginning July 13, 2026:
- Your account(s) will move to Farmers State Bank’s core banking system
- Farmers State Bank’s Account Terms & Conditions and disclosures will apply
- Some operational details (such as routing numbers, debit cards, and digital banking access) will change, as outlined below
Your account ownership, balances, and transaction history are not affected by this change.
Conversion Weekend Hours
To complete our system conversion, we will have adjusted hours during the conversion weekend:
- Friday, July 10, 2026: Closing at 3:00 PM
- Saturday, July 11, 2026: Closed
- Monday, July 13, 2026: Reopening with regular business hours
We appreciate your patience during this transition.
Your Routing & Account Information After Conversion
- Most customers will retain their existing account number following the July 13, 2026, conversion. A small number of customers required account number changes and have already been contacted individually.
- The routing number associated with your account will transition to Farmers State Bank’s routing number (101104795) effective July 13, 2026. The Kaw Valley State Bank routing number will remain active for a period of time to allow for a smooth transition of automatic transactions.
- We recommend updating any direct deposits or automatic payments to the new routing number at your earliest convenience.
Overdraft Services
Kaw Valley State Bank previously offered an overdraft service that allowed certain transactions to be paid when your account did not have enough funds, and a fee was charged. Farmers State Bank does not offer this type of overdraft service. While we may occasionally choose to pay an overdraft at our discretion, this is not an automatic service and is not something you can opt in or out of.
Beginning July 13, 2026, transactions may be declined if there are not sufficient funds available in your account at the time the transaction is presented.
- If you do not have enough funds in your account, your transaction may be declined at the time of purchase or payment.
- You should not rely on transactions being paid when your balance is negative, as this is no longer a standard service.
- It is important to keep track of your account balance and pending transactions, especially for debit card purchases, checks, and automatic payments.
- You may still be charged a fee if the bank chooses to honor an overdraft at its discretion.
To avoid declined transactions or unexpected fees, we encourage you to review your account balance regularly and ensure funds are available before making purchases or payments.
Options to Help You Manage Your Account
We offer the following services to help you avoid overdrafts:
- Automatic Transfers: You may link another account (such as a savings account) to your checking account. If your checking account balance is low, funds will transfer automatically to cover the transaction.
- One-Time Setup Fee: $10.00
- Per Transfer Fee: $2.00
- Demand Deposit Loan (DDL): You may apply for a line of credit that provides overdraft protection. If approved, funds are advanced to your account as needed. Interest will apply to any outstanding balance, subject to credit approval.
- Annual DDL Fee: $20.00
- Interest will apply on the outstanding balance
If you are interested in either of these options, please contact us or visit your local branch for assistance. If you currently have one of these overdraft protection options in place, it will continue after conversion, and applicable Farmers State Bank terms and fees will apply. If you wish to discontinue a service, please contact us for assistance.
Debit & ATM Cards
- If you currently have a debit or ATM card issued by Kaw Valley State Bank, you will receive a new card prior to conversion
- You may activate your new card upon receipt; however, it will not become functional until July 13, 2026

- Your existing card will continue to work through July 12, 2026
- During the conversion weekend (Friday, July 10, through Sunday, July 12), card transaction limits may be temporarily lower than usual as transactions are processed offline
ATM Access
You will continue to have convenient access to your funds using your debit or ATM card.
- Farmers State Bank ATMs (No Fee): You may use the following ATMs at no charge:
- 739 Main St, Eudora, KS 66025

- Any payments you have already scheduled will still be processed, as long as the payment date is no later than July 10, 2026
- Payments scheduled for dates after July 10, 2026, will not be processed, and will need to be re-entered in the new system.
- Your bill pay settings and payees will need to be re‑established in the new digital banking system following conversion. We recommend making note of your current payees’ names, account numbers, and payment details so you can easily set them up again after conversion.
Account Statements
- Because the system conversion will occur in the middle of your normal statement cycle, you will receive a one‑time statement dated July 10, 2026, reflecting activity from the beginning of your current cycle through that date. You will receive this statement via mail.
- As a special accommodation during this transition, monthly maintenance fees and paper statement fees will be waived for any statements issued during July.
- After conversion on July 13, 2026, your next statement will include activity for the remainder of the cycle and may also cover a shorter period than usual.
- Beginning with the following statement, your account will return to its normal statement cycle and timing.
- No action is required on your part. These statements are provided for your records.
Safe Deposit Boxes
If you currently rent a safe deposit box, you will retain your box, and your annual billing cycle will continue as it does today.
Annual rental fees may change beginning with your next billing cycle. If you currently receive a $2.00 automatic debit discount, that discount will continue after conversion.
New annual rental fees are as follows:
- 2″ x 5″ box: $10.00
- 3″ x 5″ box: $15.00
- 5″ x 5″ box: $20.00
- 5″ x 10″ box: $36.00
Loans
If you currently have a loan relationship that originated with Kaw Valley State Bank, it is now serviced by Farmers State Bank and will continue without change. Your loan terms, including your interest rate, payment amount, and due date, will not change as a result of this conversion. You should continue making your payments as you do today. If any payment instructions change, we will notify you separately.
Terms, Conditions & Disclosures (Effective July 13, 2026)
As part of the system conversion, your existing account(s) will automatically transition into comparable account types offered by Farmers State Bank and will be subject to Farmers State Bank’s account terms and disclosures, which may differ from those that apply today. Specific terms and conditions documents were mailed to account holders on June 11, 2026. Continued use of your account on or after July 13, 2026, constitutes acceptance of these terms. If you have questions or believe that a different account type would better serve your needs, please contact us.
FDIC Insurance
Your deposits remain insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) up to applicable limits, before and after conversion.
